Room Hire: Terms & Conditions
The BTRA room is not available to any user or group that directly or indirectly contravenes Camden Council’s equal opportunity policy.
The hirer or user of the room undertakes that the premises shall not be used for any objectionable character and BTRA committee has the right to ask the hirer/user to stop any function considered objectionable
Sub-letting is not permitted.
For health and safety reasons, the maximum number of people permitted in the room is 40. User/hirer is responsible for enforcing this.
Anyone hiring the Room to give classes must have their own insurance
All groups must leave promptly and quietly please at the end of their bookings. Please be aware residents directly above. The user/hirer is responsible for the conduct of people arriving and leaving.
Amplified music or the selling of alcohol of any description is not permitted.
It is illegal to smoke in the room or outside the room entrance, on the podium or on the way to or in the lifts or walkways leading to and from the room.
No animals are allowed into the room except guide dogs or disability aid dogs.
No BTRA equipment or chairs to be taken out of the room without permission.
Premises must be left clean and tidy at the end of a booking, tables and chairs to be left as originally set up. Anything displayed on the walls must be applied with blue tack and removed at the end of the booking.
The BTRA is not responsible for any items left on the premises by the user/hirer or their guests.
Any damage to the room needs to be reported to the duty key holder on the day.
The kitchen must be left clean if used. All rubbish bags must be deposited in bins. All efforts to be made to recycle where possible and compost food waste. Compost bags are provided in the kitchen drawer (instructions and directions available in the kitchen). The BTRA is encouraging users/hirers to recycle/compost food upholding green policies of Camden Council.
If additional cleaning is required or any damage incurred this will be charged to the hirer/user either through the non-return of the deposit or through an additional charge whichever is the greater.
Keys for the room can be collected and returned by arrangement. Please contact Jo Reuben for information about duty key holder for your room hire.
The user/hirer is responsible for ensuring the room is closed and locked when leaving, lights turned off (if applicable) and the key returned to the duty key holder.
Failure to return or loss of keys will result in a £50.00 charge.
Meetings/clubs held by and for residents – No fee
Meetings of organisations/charities a resident is involved with but not for the direct benefit of residents
£15 per hour
£50 for half day (4 hours)
£85 for full day (8 hours)
Parties – User/hirer must be a resident: Flat Rate Fee of £25.00 for admin/cleaning. Refundable deposit of £50 for parties.
£20.00 per hour room hire.
£60.00 for half day (4 hours).
£100.00 for full day (8 hours – Flexible fee upon discussion)
Refundable deposit of £100:
All fees and deposits should be paid in advance at least 1 week before hire.
TRA room will be available on reasonable request and when/where available at no cost for:
Council officers and emergency services requiring welfare facilities or centres of operation when emergencies arise in the area
Polling during elections.
Council officers who need a convenient venue for surgeries to consult with local residents.
Hours of hire
Weekdays: 9am until 9pm
Weekends: 10am until 6pm extended hours by arrangement
