ABOUT US

This site is by and for people who live in, work at or love the Brunswick in Bloomsbury. We want to share information about the building and the community here so that it can be an even better place.
How do I…?
If you’re wondering how to do everyday things, like recycling and getting things mended, at the Brunswick here are some tips from residents.
Get things mended
If the communal services – lift, lighting, entry phones, doors, rubbish chutes, central heating or hot water – are not working, report the problem online, or ring Camden repairs on 020 7974 1212 (9am-6pm, Monday-Friday). There is a 24/7 maintenance contract on the lifts and heating, so don’t wait until the morning to report a problem – the sooner you report it, the sooner it will be fixed! You can call the Camden switchboard out of hours on 020 7974 4444.
Contact the caretaker
Call 020 7974 4444 to contact caretaking services who are responsible for cleaning the communal residential areas. Please note that the caretakers do not work at the weekend.
Recycle household waste
The food waste composting bins are by the stairs at each corner of the block at podium level. There are mixed recycling bins for glass, plastics, tins, paper and cardboard on the corner of Brunswick Square near the Hare & Tortoise restaurant, and on the other side of the Holiday Inn, just off Coram Street.
Dispose of bulky rubbish
If you have transport, there is an excellent Camden recycling centre in Regis Road, Kentish Town, where you can dispose of pretty much everything. They also have a bulky waste collection service, which will take things like fridges, mattresses or garden waste, for which there is a charge.
Turn off the heating when I go away
In order to turn your heating down or off when you go away, press both buttons (with the up and down arrows) on your thermostat at the same time and you will see the display change to show 5 degrees. To turn the heating off completely, you then press the down arrow. To turn it back on again press both buttons together again.
Find the community room
TRA and leaseholder meetings are held in the community room (also known as the tenants’ room) at 10 Foundling Court, which is at podium level, looking into the centre, beside Entrance 1 (corner of Marchmont and Bernard Street, nearest to Russell Square tube). If you live in O’Donnell Court you get in by calling no. 10 on the entry phone (providing there is someone there to let you in!).
Call help for security problems
To report and get help with intruders or other security issues call Camden security on 020 7974 4444 and ask for the mobile patrol. Alternatively, call Holborn police on 0300 123 1212, unless it’s a 999 emergency. The nearest police station is at 10 Lamb’s Conduit Street.
Report anti-social behaviour
Camden is aware of problems such as groups of young people causing a nuisance. Please report any incidents to the Camden helpline: 020 7974 3461 so that their patrols continue to focus on the Brunswick. You can find more information about what is being done about anti-social behaviour on Camden’s website.
Get a parking place or permit
For a parking space in the residents’ garage underneath the Brunswick apply on the Camden website. If you want to park on the street (which is cheaper but you don’t get an allocated space) you need a Camden residents parking permit. Either way you need to complete the form and provide proof of residence and ownership of the car, and that it is taxed.
Book parking for a visitor
On the Camden website you can book a visitor parking permit which allows your visitor to park in the residents’ parking area on the street.
Get a storage shed
There are storage sheds on the first floor of both Foundling and O’Donnell Court. To apply for one contact the District Housing Office on 020 7974 3566.
