A Local List for Camden: Which Buildings Do You Value?

Camden wants your views about the selection criteria for the inclusion of important local buildings in a local list. It is the first step in a project to identify buildings and features that local people value and which contribute to the character of the local area because of their architectural or historic significance, even though they are not currently listed.

The project will create a local list, planned for adoption in June 2013, which gathers together information on what is significant about these buildings and features in one place.  They are primarily looking for buildings that are not in conservation areas, thought those will not necessarily be excluded.

Draft selection criteria have been drawn up, and are important as they will be used in both the identification and assessment of nominations. Camden’s consultation page allows you to view the draft selection criteria, find out more about the consultation and submit your comments and views on them. The consultation period on the draft selection criteria will be running from now until 30th September 2012.

Once the criteria have been agreed, you will have the opportunity to nominate buildings for inclusion. For further information on the project please go to
