September 2010
If you like singing, join the new Brunswick singing group which will meet in the Community Room (10 Foundling Court, access via Doorway 1) at 6.30pm on Wednesdays from today, 8 September. The Mayor of Camden is due to come along tonight to get the group off to a flying start. It has been organised by Isobel McMillan on behalf of the Brunswick Tenants and Residents Association. You can contact Isobel for more details (67 Foundling Court or isobel.mcmillan@phonecoop.coop).
Singer and actor Debora Collister will be leading us in a range of songs from around the world, including traditional, modern, pop and show tunes. You don’t need to be able to read music or have any experience in a choir – just join in and sing!

There was a great atmosphere at the Marchmont Street party on Saturday. The brass band was terrific, and the Punch and Judy show attracted quite a crowd. As well as a deliciously wicked brownie, I bought a copy of the new edition of ‘The Story of Marchmont Street’ by Ricci de Freitas. It has some fascinating photos of the houses and shops that used to be where the Brunswick is now, and lots of anecdotes about the people who used to live or work in the street. Skoob have copies on sale for £7.95 if you’re interested.
